Over time, he developed a life-long obsession with sex and religious blasphemy, using ceremonial Magick as a means of tapping into the darker aspects of mystical thought. Now considered an icon of non-conformity by his admirers, Crowley's extreme living led to a hard crash later in life, leading many to argue whether his hedonistic, "do what thou wilt" philosophy was nothing more than the product of an egomaniac.
